The Right Choice for Your Healthcare Project
2025-03-13
Commercial vinyl flooring is the most popular choice in the healthcare sector.
You can also see it in retail, education, corporate, and even some hotels and multi-family homes. However, there's a lot more to this resilient flooring than you might know. Let's explore the construction and distribution of the product to understand why it might be the right choice for your project.
1. Homogeneous PVC plastic flooring has strong wear resistance. In crowded places like hospitals, there are many people coming in and out every day, including wheelchairs, which can cause significant wear and tear on ordinary flooring. However, homogeneous and transparent PVC plastic flooring can solve this problem.
2. Homogeneous flooring has good resistance to bacteria and chemicals, which can reduce the growth of bacteria. After seamless welding, the flooring is not only easy to clean, but also less likely to store stains in the corners and gaps, meeting the environmental requirements of hospitals.
3. There are many colors, types, patterns, and styles of flooring, which can be matched and designed according to different areas to create a comfortable environment.
4. Good sound insulation and strong sound absorption, patients in the ward need a quiet and comfortable resting environment during hospitalization and recovery.
5. The floor has strong safety, anti slip and waterproof properties, fire resistance and flame retardancy, which can protect the safety of patients and medical staff.
6. The floor has good elasticity and comfortable foot feel, suitable for the elderly and children to walk, and can also reduce the risk of falls and injuries.
Homogeneous structure

Homogeneous sheet product is a single layer made from a mixture of the same materials, but the product is not created in one step. One is PUR Protection layer, the other is compacted calendered.Homogeneous floorings begin with an industrial mixer, mixing together chips of color and size specific to that product.
These chips are then deposited on a conveyor belt, which transports the product throughout the process. If it is homogeneous paper, the product will not be printed. Instead, visual effects are created by different combinations of chips.
The way the chips are dispersed, the size and color of the chips, and the balance of the formulations that carry and bond the chips together all contribute to the final visual and performance attributes of the product. Once the product is deposited on the conveyor belt as designed, the next step in the process is called consolidation. Consolidation refers to the thick layer of a product component being pressed down by a cylinder to bring the product to the proper thickness and density.
The sheet is then coated with our production system, which provides industry-leading performance in terms of abrasion, staining, and fading in the commercial sector. More robust performance can be achieved by carefully designing the overall thickness, density, and wear layer formulations for this category.
KCCFLOR is the leader in this category and the only manufacturer of heavy-duty commercial panels in China. This is especially important for those interested in product applications, especially for healthcare customers.
As a leading healthcare brand, KCCFLOR is the first name that comes to most people's minds because of its relevance to performance in the healthcare sector. Homogeneity, on the other hand, means that a single layer or all of it is made of the same material. It's the same from the top, middle, and bottom. Going back to the food analogy, think of a steak or a potato, it looks the same even if you cut it. Kolbindustry is once again the market share leader in this type of flooring products. Due to the entry costs required to enter the manufacturing industry, there are not many reputable competitors in this category.
Floorings such as KCCFLOR are designed for the most powerful healthcare application in the field: the operating room.
Due to the specific performance considerations of the operating room and the nature of homogeneous sheets in general,
these products are ideally suited for those demanding applications.
PS:
Heterogeneous structure

Multi-layer products require a multi-step manufacturing process. We start with carrier products. First layer is UV Coating, second is embossing layer, then image layer(Glass Fiber),compressive layer, the last one is strength fiber base layer. For most heterogeneous commercial products, it is usually fiberglass. Then we apply the liquid coating with a roller. This coating can be applied to the top, back or, like Kolbindustry products, to the top and bottom. Once the liquid coating has been applied, the material passes through an oven that allows the vinyl coating on both sides of the fiberglass to cure. The process builds the core layer of the product and creates a canvas for the print visual design. Next is the gravure printing process. Gravure printing is an umbrella term for a rather complex printing process. This process has led our design department to create a unique visual effect for the product. Inspired by natural wood, tiles, weaving, and even abstract looks, each pattern is divided into different elements to create visual layers. Each visual layer is then engraved onto the cylinder used in the printing process. The flaky vinyl produced during the pre-gelation process described earlier passes between the impression roller and the printing cylinder. It picks up the ink and presses the engraved image onto the vinyl.
Each cylinder adds more color and design elements to the pattern. Depending on the complexity of the design, the process can include up to seven printing cylinders.
Heterogeneous means layered or multiple types. In this type of product, each layer looks a little different.
There is a back layer, a coated core layer, and a wear layer on top.
Printing process
Add multiple layers of color and pattern at each stage to create the final visual effect. The first stop can be the background color, the next can be the hypotenuse of the wood grain appearance, gradually developing into characteristic elements such as knots or cathedral textures, and continuing to build a beautiful wood grain vision. Each layer is built on top of the last one until a complete design emerges.
Next, a wear-resistant layer is applied over the printed pre-gel layer.
At this point, the entire product passes through a texture roller to create an embossed texture that complements the visual effect and provides more performance attributes. The product is then passed through a series of temperature-controlled furnaces to cure the wear layer and complete the product. If this seems like a lot of steps, it is. However, this is what is needed to achieve the rich visual appearance and superior performance that characterize KCCFLOR products.
